Our analytical skills can be applied at any stage of a product’s lifecycle depending on our client’s needs. We first look to understand our client’s problems and guide them through the possible analytical methods which could be employed to meet their requirements. It is a common misconception that analysis is an automated, software driven solution when in fact the software is just one part of the analytical toolkit. First a thorough understanding of the problem must be developed in order to define the correct and most efficient analytical method and then to develop the necessary software inputs and required outputs. We always start with a Q&A process with our clients to develop a Basis of Design and Analysis (BoDA) through an understanding of the product requirements, the environment and expected lifecycle. This process ensures the correct specification is agreed as quickly as possible to avoid wasted time running computer intensive analysis and minimise cost, and furthermore can significantly minimise costly 3rd party verification (DNVGL, ABS, BV & Lloyds). We do not only analyse your product but, wherever possible, look to provide recommendations and introduce optimization to ensure best possible performance and economic viability.
Our engineers have extensive experience performing detailed and 3rd party verified analysis on a wide range of machinery and structures predominantly in the offshore/marine/subsea/testing industries.
Our experience and knowledge of the problems faced in these industries, and associated environments, allows for efficient and cost-effective assessment of equipment and structures through the combined application of:
- Engineering principles
- Industry codes and standards (Eurocode, DNV, ISO, BS, API, NORSOK)
- Mathematical modelling
- Pre/post processing of data
- Industry leading software
- Hydrodynamic loading
- FEA methods including:
- Marine transit
- Subsea installation
- In-service performance
- System modelling
- Impact
- Thermal loading
